Who Are We?

The Kiribati Financial Supervisory Authority (KFSA) is an independent regulatory body responsible for supervising and overseeing the financial sector in Kiribati established under the 1) Financial Supervisory Authority Kiribati Act 2021 and 2) the Kiribati Financial Institutions Act 2021. KFSA plays a critical role in ensuring a sound, stable, and transparent financial system that supports sustainable economic development.

Our Mandate

KFSA’s mandate covers the licensing, regulation, and supervision for financial institutions which include commercial bank, Kiribati Provident fund and Development Bank of Kiribati as well as non-bank financial institutions, including insurance companies, credit unions, and other financial service providers operating in and from within Kiribati.
